Tiliek Thompson walked into an NYPD precinct Saturday and left facing murder after Lovay Williams was found beaten and strangled in her Washington Heights apartment, her young daughter still in the home. Durham police booked Lontrel Diray Alston on first-degree murder after Victoria James was shot dead at the wheel of an SUV on Revere Road Saturday afternoon. In the Adirondacks, State Police finally took Tucker Taylor on a second-degree murder charge six weeks after Patricia Lawrence was stabbed to death on Carey Road in Jay. Northern Cyprus recorded a second femicide in five days when a husband allegedly killed his wife with a power tool near Yerolakkos. Court papers in Barnegat filled in how Eileen Garvin, the longtime Bus 38 driver, died of asphyxia by strangulation and smothering, and what her husband allegedly told officers when they found him with a knife in his chest. In Ensenada, the Robinson brothers / Carter Rhoad trial heard how burned remains were pulled from a well near Punta San José. Bavaria put a 32-year-old ex-partner into Untersuchungshaft after a 50-year-old woman was found dead in Geretsried. Santa Clara prosecutors are holding Anila Baby without bail on two murder counts for the same-day killings of Ann Matthew and Anjana Hari. Accra’s Adabraka court remanded security guard Abraham Newton Awundok over the alleged septic-tank concealment of Dr Jesse Amuah and Elizabeth Esi Amuah. And Columbia County kept Isaiah Devon Campbell without bond in the Moore Road killing of Nicole Xenia Lopez — the second Lake City domestic homicide in roughly twelve hours.
Washington Heights: Arrest in Lovay Williams Killing
Tiliek Thompson, 41, of Central Harlem, turned himself in Saturday and was charged with murder, strangulation, assault, and child abandonment in the Sept. 6 death of Lovay Williams, 27, inside her apartment in the 500 block of West 156th Street.
NYPD officers on a wellness check about 1:36 p.m. that Sunday found Williams beaten and strangled; EMS pronounced her at the scene. Her 7-year-old daughter was home. Thompson’s attorney, Neville Onielle Dexter Mitchell, said his client would plead not guilty and asked the public to wait for the facts. Relatives confronted Thompson as detectives walked him from the 33rd Precinct. He is presumed innocent.

Durham: First-Degree Charge After Revere Road Shooting
Lontrel Diray Alston, 38, of Durham, is held without bond after Durham police charged him with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.
Officers answered a call around 1:30 p.m. Saturday on Revere Road near Sedwick Road. Investigators say Victoria James, 43, was driving a Mitsubishi Outlander south when shots tore into the SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Passenger Dasia James went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; court papers also name Jeffery James, 16, as uninjured. The arrest warrant alleges Alston fired a handgun into the vehicle. First court date Monday. He is presumed innocent.

Jay: Arrest Six Weeks After Carey Road Stabbing
New York State Police arrested Tucker J. Taylor, 48, of Au Sable Forks, on Sunday and charged him with second-degree murder in the Aug. 2 killing of Patricia Lawrence, 54, at 150 Carey Road in the Town of Jay.
An autopsy found severe hemorrhaging from stab wounds to the neck and heart; manner of death homicide. Troopers said an extensive investigation with the DEA, Essex County Sheriff’s Office, and local departments identified Taylor. He was processed at State Police in Plattsburgh, arraigned Sunday, and ordered held without bail. Next date Sept. 18 in Elizabethtown Town Court. He is presumed innocent.

Yerolakkos: Second Femicide in Five Days
Turkish Cypriot police detained a 41-year-old man after his 35-year-old wife died Saturday afternoon near Yerolakkos (Gerolakkos) on the Morphou–Nicosia road — the second femicide recorded in the north within five days.
Reports say a roadside argument ended with the car leaving the road about 110 metres into a field, where the husband allegedly struck her head with an electric cutting tool kept in the vehicle. Police told a Nicosia district court he gave a handwritten statement admitting he hit her with his hands and the tool. The court ordered three days’ detention Sunday for investigation and autopsy. Five days earlier, a 61-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her 71-year-old ex-husband in Agios Georgios, Karpasia. The latest suspect is presumed innocent pending charges.

Barnegat: ME Rules Strangulation in Bus Driver Killing
Newly released court records and a medical examiner finding filled in the Sept. 7 death of Eileen Garvin, 69, the longtime Barnegat school-bus driver remembered for Bus 38.
Ocean County’s ME made a preliminary call of asphyxia by manual strangulation and smothering, ruled homicide. William Garvin, 67, already charged with murder, allegedly told officers after a 4:26 p.m. welfare check on Windward Drive that he had killed her around 11 a.m. over a drained fishpond, that “she deserved it,” and later asked on body-worn camera whether there was “a better penalty for killing your wife than dying.” Police say they found him in an armchair with a knife protruding from his chest. The couple were divorcing but still sharing the house. Funeral Mass is set for Tuesday at St. Mary’s. He is presumed innocent.

Ensenada: Well and Burned Remains in Surfer Trial
The Ensenada homicide trial of three men charged over the April 2024 Baja California killings of Perth brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and American friend Carter Rhoad heard Saturday from missing-persons and forensics officers who recovered burned human remains from a well near an abandoned oceanfront ranch at Punta San José.
Jesús Gerardo (“El Kekas”), Irineo Francisco, and Ángel Jesús face aggravated homicide, aggravated burglary, violent robbery, and grand theft auto. Court testimony described foul odour from the well, blood-stained burned clothes, a .45 casing, and a tooth; defence lawyers challenged timelines and whether some items were old. Ari Gisell, sentenced last year to 20 years in connection with the case, is expected next week. Verdict timing is unsettled after a late judge change. The accused are presumed innocent.

Geretsried: Ex-Partner Held After Woman Found Dead
Bavarian police say a 50-year-old woman was the victim of a Gewaltverbrechen in Geretsried (Landkreis Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen) after relatives who could not reach her called late Friday.
Officers found her body in her apartment. Autopsy confirmed a violent crime. Her former partner, a 32-year-old German, was arrested Saturday; an investigating judge ordered Untersuchungshaft on Sunday. Tatablauf and motive remain unclear. He is presumed innocent.

Milpitas / San José: Two Murder Counts in Same-Day Killings
Anila Baby, 32, of Milpitas, was arraigned Thursday and ordered held without bail on two murder counts after Santa Clara County prosecutors tied her to the Aug. 28 deaths of Ann Matthew, 39, in San José and Anjana Hari, 32, in a Milpitas apartment parking lot about ninety minutes apart.
A detective’s statement to the DA’s office says Matthew was stabbed, strangled, and beaten inside her home; phone location, deleted camera clips, a matching sandal, and blood on Baby’s pants linked her to that scene. Witnesses then described an SUV accelerating into Hari as she approached the car; officers found Baby injured and bloodied nearby. Next date Nov. 17. Motive still undeclared. She is presumed innocent.

Accra: Remand in Amuah Asylum Down Double Killing
Adabraka District Court remanded Abraham Newton Awundok, 32, a private security guard, on two murder counts over the March 23 alleged killings of Dr Jesse Amuah, 80, and Elizabeth Esi Amuah, 64, at Asylum Down — with bodies later recovered from a septic tank.
Prosecution told the court a GH¢1,500 chore-payment dispute escalated; Awundok allegedly beat Mrs Amuah with a pestle, then attacked the doctor with a knife, pestle, and concrete before returning the next night to dump the bodies, seal the tank, and flee to Dubai. Ghana police brought him back Aug. 30. Plea not taken; adjourned to Sept. 21. He is presumed innocent.

Lake City: Murder Charge After Moore Road Domestic Killing
Isaiah Devon Campbell, 19, is held without bond on a murder charge after Columbia County deputies found Nicole Xenia Lopez, 21, dead at 3881 NW Moore Road about 4:19 a.m. Thursday — less than twelve hours after pregnant 16-year-old Ashia La Shai Moore was shot dead in a separate Lake City apartment case.
Campbell called 911 and let deputies in, saying Lopez had fallen and hit her head during a fight. Detectives later said she had blunt-force and stab wounds from an altercation with him earlier that night. First appearance Friday kept him no-bond. LawAndCrime led its homepage with reporting that he dismissed her as “playing around” and wanting attention before checking on her. In the Moore case, 17-year-old Dominique Santonio Hill remains charged with tampering with evidence as a person of interest; no murder charge announced there yet. Campbell is presumed innocent.
