New Zealand Police opened a Glenholme homicide file after a woman and two young children died on High Street in Rotorua Monday night; a man in his early 20s was remanded on a family-violence assault charge with interim name suppression while forensics grind on. In Ensenada, day two of the Baja surfers trial put Martin Robinson on the stand and, for the first time in open court, tied the FBI to finding Jake and Callum Robinson and Carter Rhoad in a cliff-top shaft. Victoria Police grabbed three people in Deer Park over Sunday’s soccer-club car-park shooting of plumber Daniel Hussein, 22. Rotorua High Street Triple Homicide
Bay of Plenty Police launched a homicide investigation after emergency crews found two young children dead and a woman with life-threatening injuries at a High Street house in Glenholme shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday. She died at the scene despite efforts by police and ambulance. Acting District Commander Inspector Logan Marsh said all three deaths are treated as homicides, a man at the address was assisting inquiries, and no one else was being sought.
On Tuesday a man in his early 20s appeared in Rotorua District Court charged with assaulting a person in a family relationship. He and the victims got interim name suppression. Remanded in custody to October 2. Mayor Tania Tapsell said the neighbourhood was “shaken to our core.” Forensic work at the house was expected to run days. The accused is presumed innocent; murder charges have not been publicly laid.

Ensenada: FBI Role and Father’s Testimony
Day two of the Ensenada trial against Jesús Gerardo García (“El Kekas”), Irineo Francisco N., and Ángel Jesús N. — charged with aggravated homicide and related counts in the April 2024 killings of Perth brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and American friend Jack Carter Rhoad — brought Martin Robinson to the stand for more than an hour. “I’m here because my two sons were murdered,” he told the judge-only court. He described identifying Callum by tattoos and Jake by photos, then giving DNA. “We don’t hold any animosity against the people who did this, but what we don’t understand is how they could rob the world of two beautiful men.” Debra Robinson sat crying, then embraced him.
A friend of Callum and Carter testified that the FBI had been “cooperating with Mexican authorities,” and that Page Rhoad was told in San Diego that bodies had been found in a well. She testified by video from Georgia that each man was shot three times; seeing the photos, she said, “looked like an execution.” The three accused, removed Monday after prosecutors flagged witness intimidation, were back in the room Tuesday. Trial expected to run more than four weeks. All three are presumed innocent.

Thomastown: Three Held Over Hussein Shooting
Victoria Police arrested a 19-year-old Donnybrook man, a 20-year-old Donnybrook man, and a 19-year-old Lalor woman in Deer Park about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday in the Sunday shooting of Daniel Hussein, 22, near HR Uren Reserve / Lalor Soccer Club on Victoria Drive in Thomastown. Hussein, a plumber engaged to be married who had recently bought a house, was shot in front of friends about 7:30 p.m. Sunday and died at the scene despite paramedics working on him as loved ones watched.
Homicide Squad detectives are interviewing the three. No charges announced yet. Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000. All three are presumed innocent.

Las Vegas: Orona Held Without Bail
Juan Carlos Orona, 29, made his initial appearance Wednesday in Las Vegas Justice Court before Judge Amy Wilson on 13 felonies, including three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon, in the Sept. 1 apartment shootings of girlfriend Nohani Flores Osuna, 41, and her children Maiya Deleon Flores, 16, and Noah Morales Flores, 7, in the 5100 block of O’Bannon Drive. Metro Police say he confessed after a domestic fight; an arrest report quotes him saying he “blacked out” and came to holding a Glock with the three on the bathroom floor. He is held without bail. Preliminary hearing Oct. 21. Public defender Anna Clark appointed. Orona is presumed innocent.

Palavas-les-Flots Flat Killing
Montpellier prosecutor Thierry Lescouarc’h opened a murder inquiry Wednesday after gendarmes found a man dead with “multiple wounds” in a centre-ville residence on rue du Ponant in Palavas-les-Flots, Hérault. The Section de recherches de Montpellier is hunting the author or authors. A helicopter searched the resort; Mayor Christian Jeanjean said it was neither terrorism nor an attack on the public. Early local reporting described an ultra-violent knife attack and a fleeing suspect who jumped from a first-floor balcony onto a parked car; the prosecutor’s evening statement confirmed one deceased man and an active manhunt. Names not yet released.

Manaus: Brother Confesses After Guyana Flee
Pedro Henrique da Silva Hernandes, 22, and Leonardo Neves Mota, 28, were arrested Wednesday after confessing in Boa Vista to killing Maurício Medeiros dos Santos, 36 — Pedro’s brother — and Letícia Rikaely Guimarães da Cruz, 19, in Manaus. Bodies found Tuesday, bound, gagged, deep neck wounds. Crime overnight Sunday into Monday. Pedro told Draco detectives he tipped the address hoping to steal about R$40,000 amid family money fights; Leonardo said the plan was robbery until Maurício recognized his brother, then knives came out. They fled in the couple’s pickup to Lethem, Guyana, and were grabbed with help from Brazilian and Guyanese units. Both presumed innocent unless and until convicted.

Copacabana: Thirteen Indicted in Cyclist Beating
Rio’s Polícia Civil closed the inquiry Wednesday into the Aug. 12 beating death of Cláudio Rafael Landeiro Moreira, 37, wrongly accused of stealing a bike on Rua Barata Ribeiro. Five men — Davi Santos Machado, Jorge Luiz Ricardo Dias, Felipe Eduardo dos Santos Silva, Ailton José da Silva, and Wellington Luiz Santos de Souza (still fugitive) — were indicted for triply qualified homicide (fútil motive, cruel means, victim unable to defend). Eight others face omission of aid, bodily injury, or irregular private security. More than 12 hours of CCTV. Four already in custody. File goes to the Ministério Público. All accused are presumed innocent.

Ollerton: Oleszek Charged in Zukowska Death
Nottinghamshire Police charged Jozef Zbigniew Oleszek, 60, of James Close, Ollerton, with murder Wednesday after Anna Zukowska, 52, a mother of two, was found dead at her James Close home shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday. He is due at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court Thursday. Family tribute called her “wonderful, vibrant.” Det Insp Stu Barson said officers are supporting her mother, sister, and sons. Oleszek is presumed innocent.

Great Denham: Tshuma Gun Plea Stalls Extradition Clock
Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45 — wanted by Bedfordshire Police over the July 7 killings of wife Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, at Carnoustie Drive, Great Denham — pleaded guilty in Johannesburg to unlawful firearm and ammunition possession plus Immigration Act breaches. CPS England has authorized three murder charges; extradition was teed for Thursday. A plea-and-sentence paper signed by former NPA head Shamila Batohi delayed acceptance Tuesday; magistrate must still bless any deal, and a custodial SA sentence could tangle return. Lawyer Chrispen Machingura wants him back to the UK to face the murder brief. Tshuma is presumed innocent of the UK murders unless and until convicted.

Yesa Reservoir: Roommate Arrested
Guardia Civil and Policía Foral arrested a Spanish man Tuesday morning in Pamplona’s La Milagrosa after searching the flat he shared with a French man roughly 60 whose dismembered remains surfaced Aug. 4 on a beach of the Yesa reservoir at Sigüés (Zaragoza) when water levels dropped. A disappearance report later let investigators link the cases. Judge at Juzgado de Primera Instancia e Instrucción nº 1 de Ejea de los Caballeros keeps the file sealed. Motive not public. Detained suspect presumed innocent.

Kaihu: Dog-Attack Manslaughter Charge
After a six-month investigation, New Zealand Police on Wednesday charged a 43-year-old Kaihu man — the dogs’ owner — with manslaughter in the Feb. 17 death of Mihiata Te Rore, killed in a dog attack at a rural address off State Highway 12. Det Sen Sgt Shane Pilmer, Whangārei CIB, said the man was taken into custody in central Auckland. Matter now before the courts; police offered no further comment. Accused presumed innocent.

Sparkbrook: Crichton Charged Over Niazai
West Midlands Police charged Me’Schach Crichton, 28, of Birmingham, with murder after Atiqullah Niazai, 26, was found with stab wounds at a Long Street address in Sparkbrook on Aug. 28. Crichton appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court Tuesday and was remanded to Birmingham Crown Court Thursday. Specialist officers continue supporting Niazai’s family. Crichton is presumed innocent.
