In Plymouth County, Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer asked Judge William Sullivan to enter not-guilty findings for lack of criminal responsibility and spare a second trial after last week’s hung jury. U.S. Marshals grabbed Dennikia Boyce in Scotland Neck, N.C., ending a weeks-long hunt over two VDOT contractors shot dead in Chesterfield. Mexico State prosecutors locked Diego Sebastián N and Gerardo N into formal process for the Atizapán killings of Camilo Séptimo keyboardist Jonathan Meléndez, his pregnant wife, their toddler, and a household worker. Victoria Police upgraded yesterday’s Deer Park arrests into murder charges against Marcus and Lucas Jajou for plumber Daniel Hussein. The Met charged Leroy Heffron over Thomas Carey’s Clapham death. In Taunton, Sienna Barboza was held without bail as the alleged driver in a birthday-party shooting that killed Zirovick Depina and wounded seven. Clancy Asks Judge to End the Case
Attorney Kevin Reddington filed Thursday asking Plymouth County Superior Court Judge William Sullivan to enter findings of not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility on every count against Lindsay Clancy, 36, and block a retrial. Last Friday’s jury deadlocked after a five-week trial — eleven jurors ready to clear her of criminal responsibility, one holdout — and Sullivan declared a mistrial.
Nobody at trial disputed that Clancy strangled Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, at the family’s Duxbury home on Jan. 24, 2023, then tried to kill herself and was left paralyzed from the waist down. The fight was always her mind. Reddington says the Commonwealth’s own experts conceded serious mental illness and never proved she kept the substantial capacity to know wrongfulness or conform her conduct. Plymouth County DA Timothy Cruz still hasn’t said whether he’ll retry her. Motion teed for the Sept. 29 conference. Clancy is presumed innocent.

Boyce Caught in Scotland Neck
Dennikia Rachelle Boyce, 37, of Emporia, was arrested Thursday morning in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, by the U.S. Marshals Service on a federal flight-to-avoid-prosecution charge. Virginia State Police say she’ll be extradited to face two second-degree murder counts for the July 24 shootings of VDOT contractors Rai’Shon Eugene Delarge, 30, and Philip Avery Wilson, 34, at a Chesterfield equipment yard near Routes 1 and 288.
Marshals and local affidavits place her on Walmart and Sunoco cameras in Ahoskie and Conway within days of the shootings; Northampton County found her blue Honda abandoned behind a Pendleton church on July 28. Scotland Neck police say marshals, Halifax County’s drug-and-gang task force, and local officers took her around 9 a.m. She’s held at Halifax County Jail. Investigators have called the case domestic-related and say she knew at least one victim. Boyce is presumed innocent.

Atizapán: Meléndez Killings Bound Over
Control Judge Iris Miranda bound Diego Sebastián N and Gerardo N to formal criminal process on the State of Mexico’s case for the Sept. 1 apartment killings in Atizapán de Zaragoza of Jonathan Samuel Meléndez Ochoa — keyboardist for Camilo Séptimo — his pregnant wife Ana Paula Barragán, their 3-year-old daughter, household worker Aleyda Romero, and the family dog. Counts include aggravated homicide of two or more people, violent interruption of pregnancy, and cruelty to animals.
Prosecutors walked the judge through roughly 70 pieces of proof Wednesday, including video of Diego’s Kia entering the Grand Viure / Bosque Esmeralda complex on Bosque de Amates and a later stop in Tecámac with zip ties, gloves, and blood traces in the car. They say Diego, once Meléndez’s business partner, floated a bitcoin score and promised Gerardo two million pesos for help. Both stay in preventive prison at San Pedro Barrientos / Tlalnepantla while a four-month complementary investigation runs. They are presumed innocent.

Thomastown: Two Charged With Hussein Murder
Marcus Jajou, 19, and Lucas Jajou, 20, both of Donnybrook, were charged with murder Thursday in the Sunday evening shooting of Daniel Hussein, 22, in the car park near HR Uren Reserve / Lalor United on Victoria Drive in Thomastown. Victoria Police had grabbed the pair and a 19-year-old Lalor woman in Deer Park about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday. The men were remanded in custody after a Melbourne Magistrates’ Court appearance Thursday evening; the woman was released without charge pending further inquiries.
Hussein, a plumber engaged to be married who’d just bought a house, was shot in front of friends about 7:30 p.m. Sunday and died at the scene. Police will allege the parties knew each other and that the attack was targeted. His uncle Abdallah called the loss “enormous.” Both accused are presumed innocent.

Clapham: Heffron Charged in Carey Death
The Metropolitan Police charged Leroy Heffron, 38, of Sangley Road, Catford, with the murder of Thomas Carey, 39, found with multiple head injuries at a Poynders Road address in Clapham and declared dead at the scene last Friday. Heffron was due at Westminster Magistrates’ Court Thursday for a first hearing.
A woman in her 30s remains in custody on suspicion of conspiracy to murder; another man in his 30s, arrested on suspicion of murder, was bailed. Det Ch Insp Alison Foxwell is still appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything unusual the night of Sept. 3 into the early hours of Sept. 4. Heffron is presumed innocent.

Taunton: Barboza Held Without Bail
Sienna Barboza, 25, of New Bedford, was arraigned Thursday in Taunton District Court on murder and seven counts of armed assault with intent to murder and ordered held without bail. Prosecutors say she drove two gunmen in her 2017 Mercedes SUV to a Weir Street birthday party early Sunday, cell data and cameras putting her on scene after she first told police she’d been home with her kids.
About 50 to 60 people were in the yard when 14 spent 9mm casings were later recovered from the railroad tracks behind the fence — shots fired blind into the crowd, a prosecutor told the court. Zirovick Depina, 22, of Brockton, was hit in the abdomen and died in surgery; seven others were wounded, one left paralyzed. Barboza allegedly drove the pair back to New Bedford and was later seen dumping trash bags. Two shooters still unnamed. Next date Oct. 7. She is presumed innocent.

Waukegan: Unprovoked Sidewalk Killing
Santiago N. Gutierrez-Munoz, 19, of Waukegan, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and ordered detained Thursday after Lake County prosecutors walked Judge James Newman through surveillance of Alfonso Alvarez, 50, being approached near Lincoln Avenue and 9th Street late Aug. 31, asked if he was a “King,” and then shot repeatedly — including to the head — in what Newman called a “random, inexplicable act.”
Waukegan police answering shots found Alvarez dying; thirteen casings littered the street. Prosecutors say the handgun had an auto-sear “switch,” Gutierrez-Munoz’s Nissan was on scene, and Crocs seized from him carried Alvarez’s blood. Defense denies the blood claim and floats an alibi. Preliminary hearing Oct. 6. He is presumed innocent.

Phoenix: Dying Words Name the Shooter
Sincere D’Andre Venson, 17, was found shot in a west Phoenix playground near 81st Lane and Magnolia just after midnight Tuesday. While first responders worked on him, he named Joshua Armstrong, described a black BMW, and handed over a phone with Armstrong’s number. He died about an hour later at Banner University Medical Center.
A probable-cause statement released Thursday charges Armstrong and Luis Gonzalez, both 18, with first-degree murder and armed robbery. Witnesses and park cameras put the pair on scene; Gonzalez admitted taking Venson’s gun after Armstrong opened fire. A black handgun with a red grip recovered from an orange Ford Escape is believed to be the murder weapon. Bonds set at $1 million each. Both are presumed innocent.

Canoga Park: Murder Counts for Mother and Unborn Child
Los Angeles County prosecutors on Wednesday amended the complaint against Walter Francisco Rodriguez Garcia, 32, of Gardena, adding two murder charges in the Aug. 23 alley shooting outside a Canoga Park apartment that left Adriana Jimenez, 22 — 16 weeks pregnant and mother to a 6-year-old — brain-dead. Her family took her off life support Friday. Sister Maria Fernanda Jimenez, 24, was shot in the throat and shoulder and is expected to survive.
LAPD says the sisters were in a black Camry in the 8300 block of Northgate Avenue when a gunman walked up and opened fire. Garcia was already held on attempted-murder counts; he pleaded not guilty to those and has not answered the new murder counts in the reporting. Uncle Leonardo Ayala called the charges overdue. Garcia is presumed innocent.

Burlington: Wellness Check Becomes Homicide
Halton Regional Police answering a family’s 6:30 a.m. Thursday wellness check found a woman in her 40s dead inside an apartment at 3020 Glencrest Road in Burlington, near Guelph Line and New Street. No one else was in the unit.
Tips pointed to a Burlington man in his 40s fleeing toward Niagara Falls. Niagara Regional Police arrested him about 7:45 a.m. Charges pending. Police say the two knew each other, they’re not looking for anyone else, and there’s no broader public threat. Major Crime Bureau is asking for tips at 905-825-4776. Names not yet released. Suspect presumed innocent.

Barberton: Victim Named, Suspect at the Border
Summit County’s medical examiner on Thursday identified Yesli Yanet Vazquez Cruz, 26, as the woman found stabbed and partially buried in the basement of a Wooster Road home in Barberton after a Friday-night suspicious-death call. She was pronounced dead early Saturday.
Barberton police charged Marcos Antonio Huerta-Garcia, 35, from Zapotitlán Tablas, Guerrero, with murder. They say he lived and worked at the house with her, then fled toward Mexico; Arizona DPS stopped him near I-8 in Yuma County. He’s in Yuma County Jail awaiting extradition to Ohio. Ohio BCI is on the file. He is presumed innocent.

Frankfort: Walsh Defense Says Jail Withholding Meds
Defense attorney Andrea Lyon told Fox News Digital on Thursday that Corie A. Walsh — the Frankfort mother facing three first-degree murder counts in the Sept. 1 death of her 2-year-old son Barrett — is not getting prescribed psychiatric medication inside the Will County Adult Detention Facility, despite hospital doctors recommending around-the-clock psych care after she was treated for self-inflicted wounds at Silver Cross.
Lyon says Walsh was in a psychotic episode. Prosecutors, at Tuesday’s detention hearing, alleged she also talked about poisoning husband Michael Walsh and had been “very invested” in the Clancy trial, texting friends about it the day Barrett died. Judge Amy Bertani ordered her held as a threat to her remaining children and husband. Next date Sept. 24. Will County Sheriff’s Office hadn’t answered the meds claim. Walsh is presumed innocent.

Peguis: Manslaughter Charge in 2025 Death
Fisher Branch RCMP and Major Crime Services charged Robyn Spence, 40, with manslaughter in the Nov. 9, 2025, death of a 59-year-old man found unresponsive in his Peguis First Nation home. Officers arrested her without incident at a Peguis residence Monday morning (Sept. 8). She was remanded into custody. The man’s name has not been released. Charge not proven in court; Spence is presumed innocent.
