Allegheny County police added rape, sexual assault and robbery charges Saturday against Elijah Hemingway, already accused of climbing through a back window on Linden Avenue in Edgewood and stabbing UPMC pediatric critical care physician Dr. Idris Evans to death in his bed while his wife fought and got their kids out. In Jarosław, the district court granted a three-month hospital detention for Ihor M., the Ukrainian whose formal murder charges still can’t be read while he’s in acute psychosis — and Polish reporting now names the dead priest as Stanisław Zbojnowicz. Jackson police booked a third murder defendant, Eric Clark, in Tasia Fortune’s staged hanging and said the autopsy backs the staging. Smyrna police charged Kingston Bradley with malice murder after finding DoorDash driver Shanteria Mosley’s dismembered remains. A Paris court gave Loïk Le Priol 26 years for killing Argentine rugby international Federico Aramburu. Belfast Crown Court heard Zak Hughes’s attack on pregnant Sarah Montgomery described as one of the worst recent domestic-violence cases; the tariff isn’t set yet. Nashville’s Bobby Randall Conner Jr. faces a murder count after four-month-old Nevaeh Petty died. Gauteng police found a tenth woman’s body in a Tembisa cemetery Saturday morning. Edgewood: Rape Charges After Doctor’s Bedside Stabbing

Elijah Hemingway, 32, already faces criminal homicide, aggravated assault, burglary and criminal trespass in the early-Thursday stabbing that killed Dr. Idris Evans, 46, a pediatric critical care physician at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and left Evans’s wife hospitalized. Allegheny County police said Saturday they have also charged Hemingway with rape, sexual assault and robbery over a Wilkinsburg attack the morning before.

Court papers and police accounts put Hemingway entering the Linden Avenue house through a rear window around 12:30 a.m. Sept. 24, then stabbing the couple in their third-floor bed. Evans’s wife told their children, 8 and 12, to run to a neighbor; she made it out with stab wounds and is in stable condition. A K9 found Hemingway nearby with cuts on his hands. During the Edgewood investigation, Wilkinsburg police flagged a sexual assault on a path near West Street around 10:30 a.m. Sept. 23; detectives say they recovered the victim’s stolen phone and other items connecting Hemingway. He was out on nonmonetary bail from a July Allegheny burglary case and has Florida battery history. Motive in the Edgewood attack is still open. Hemingway is presumed innocent.

Jarosław: Court Orders Hospital Detention for Abbey Suspect

The Jarosław District Court on Saturday granted prosecutors’ motion and ordered three months’ pretrial detention — through Dec. 23 — for Ihor M., 31, the Ukrainian whose surname Polish privacy law withholds, accused of the Benedictine abbey stabbing that killed one priest and wounded four others. Because he’s in acute psychosis, the detention runs in a hospital with a high-security psychiatric ward; he didn’t appear.

Przemyśl prosecutors drew up charges Friday of murder, attempted murder and causing bodily harm, but court psychiatrists said he was too psychotic for the charges to be formally read or for questioning. Polish reporting Saturday identifies the dead priest as Stanisław Zbojnowicz, 65. AFP and local accounts still put the attack around 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Benedyktyńska Street after Ihor M. was turned back at Korczowa without mandatory insurance. Four wounded remain under care; prosecutors say none worsened overnight Friday. Sanity at the time of the attack is a later question. He is presumed innocent.

Jackson: Third Arrest in Tasia Fortune’s Staged Hanging

Eric Clark, 45, surrendered Friday and was charged with murder in the death of Tasia Fortune, 29, a mother of four found hanging from a tree behind a vacant house on the 500 block of Road of Remembrance in west Jackson on Aug. 3. Jackson police said Friday an autopsy investigation concluded “the scene and the hanging were staged.” Clark’s first court date is Monday.

Earnest Lloyd Jr., 25, and Jarques Ratliff, 51, were already charged with murder; both have pleaded not guilty and been denied bond. Local WLBT reporting, citing police, has accused Lloyd of hanging Fortune with a black cable cord after a physical altercation. Detectives say she was killed elsewhere and had been dead two to three days before her body was found. Fortune’s mother, Christy Spivey, has said she never believed her daughter killed herself. All three accused are presumed innocent.

Smyrna: Neighbor Charged in DoorDash Driver Dismemberment

Smyrna police charged Kingston Lammar Bradley, 18, with malice murder and concealing a death after finding the dismembered remains of Shanteria Mosley — “KT” to family — at Park Valley Apartments. Lt. Meredith Holt called it a particularly gruesome case in 25 years of police work.

Investigators responding to a missing-person report found body parts in garbage bags in a vehicle trunk; Mosley’s torso showed lacerations and stab wounds, and Bradley’s apartment had heavy blood consistent with a killing and dismemberment, according to warrant details reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Mosley worked DoorDash; police say she wasn’t on a delivery when she was killed. Bradley lives at the complex with his father. Connection between the two is still under investigation. He is presumed innocent.

Paris: 26 Years for Killer of Rugby Star Aramburu

A Paris court on Friday found Loïk Le Priol, 32, guilty of murdering former Argentina rugby international Federico Aramburu and sentenced him to 26 years. The judge said Le Priol was “animated by the will to kill” and that “narcissistic, intrusive and uncontrollable rage” ended in a gratuitous killing. Associate Romain Bouvier, 35, got 19 years for attempted murder. Both are former members of the banned far-right GUD group and already serving time on a separate aggravated-assault case. They have 10 days to appeal.

Aramburu was drinking late with fellow former player Shaun Hegarty on the terrace of Café Mabillon on March 19, 2022, when an altercation with Le Priol’s table spilled onto Boulevard Saint-Germain. Bouvier fired; Le Priol fired; Aramburu died at the scene. Le Priol was later arrested in Hungary trying to cross into Ukraine. Lyson Rochemir, then Le Priol’s girlfriend, was convicted of lesser charges including obstructing justice. Aramburu won 22 caps for Argentina.

Belfast: Court Hears Attack That Killed Sarah Montgomery

Belfast Crown Court on Friday heard sentencing submissions for Zak Hughes, 29, of Ardglen Place, Ardoyne, who pleaded guilty in June to murdering Sarah Montgomery, 27, and to child destruction. She was 32 weeks pregnant. The unborn baby was a normally developed boy. Hughes faces a mandatory life sentence; Judge Denise McBride reserved the minimum tariff for a review next week.

Prosecutors said Hughes beat her for about 19 minutes in June 2025 at her Donaghadee flat, using among other things a Father’s Day water bottle marked “Dad,” and that she suffered at least 59 blunt-force injuries, many to the head. Audio on her phone captured the start of the confrontation after she asked about his fiancée’s pregnancy; the last seconds are her screaming his name. He left, picked up their daughters, bought new clothes at Primark, dumped evidence, and the next day took the girls to his fiancée’s baby shower. Her grandfather found her body. The Crown called it one of the worst recent domestic-violence cases. Hughes is already convicted on his plea.

Nashville: Murder Charge After Infant Nevaeh Petty Dies

Bobby Randall Conner Jr., 32, faces a murder count in the death of four-month-old Nevaeh Petty after doctors at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt declared her brain-dead and she died following days on life support. Metro Nashville police had first charged him with aggravated child abuse.

Officers answered a 24th Avenue North call just before 5 p.m. Sept. 19 for an unresponsive infant. Conner told them he’d been lying in bed with the child while her mother worked, got up for the bathroom, and found her unresponsive. Vanderbilt doctors reported serious internal head injuries including retinal hemorrhaging. Conner has prior convictions for child abuse (2020) and child neglect (from a March 2025 arrest; released August 2026). He’s held on $500,000 bond, not eligible for release on the jail site. He is presumed innocent.

Tembisa: Tenth Woman’s Body Found as Police Probe Killings

Gauteng police confirmed Saturday morning that another woman’s body had been found at Mooifontein Cemetery in Tembisa, east of Johannesburg — the tenth female body recovered in Ekurhuleni in recent months, eleven across Gauteng. A friend who had been with her at a bar the night before identified her by her clothes; police have not publicly named her.

Lt. Gen. Tommy Mthombeni said investigators could see she had been stoned, that a post-mortem will fix cause of death, and that it is too early to say whether this killing links to the others, though he would not rule out a serial offender given similar victimology elsewhere. A R400,000 reward is on offer. Three men already appeared in court this week over one of the earlier murders. President Cyril Ramaphosa called the toll a shame on the men of South Africa.

Phuket: Thai Court Upholds Life for Daniel Sancho

Thailand’s Court of Appeals Region 8 on Friday rejected Daniel Sancho Bronchalo’s appeal and upheld his life sentence for the premeditated murder and dismemberment of Colombian plastic surgeon Edwin Arrieta on Koh Pha Ngan in August 2023. Judges also declined a retrial and refused to raise the roughly 4.4 million baht compensation already ordered for Arrieta’s parents.

Sancho, 32, son of Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho, followed the closed hearing by videoconference from Surat Thani Prison. His defense still argues self-defense and accident; Arrieta’s family had sought the death penalty. Premeditated murder can carry death in Thailand; the first-instance judge weighed Sancho’s early confession as mitigation down to life. Parties can still go to the Supreme Court. Life there offers no parole track.

Coimbatore: Life for Four in Hindu Munnani Leader’s Murder

A Special Court for NIA Cases in Poonamallee, Chennai, on Friday sentenced four Popular Front of India cadres — Sadam Hussain, Subair, Mubarak and Mohammad Rafiqul Hassan — to life imprisonment and a ₹30,000 fine each for the Sept. 22, 2016, hacking death of Hindu Munnani spokesperson C. Sasikumar in Coimbatore. One co-accused, Abu alias Syed Abuthagir, was acquitted; the NIA said it is weighing an appeal.

The agency called it its first PFI conviction since the Centre banned the group in 2022. Convictions cover IPC murder, conspiracy and promoting enmity, plus UAPA sections. The killing set off violence across six districts and more than 300 FIRs. Trial ran from 2019 with 75 prosecution witnesses.

Turin: Validation Hearing in Colapietro Dismemberment Case

Three people were due before a Turin judge Saturday afternoon for a custody validation hearing after body parts of Fabio Colapietro, 39, of Chivasso, were found in black bags and quick-setting cement buckets in a rented flat on Via Gulli in the city’s northern outskirts. ANSA names Christian Matheus De Oliveira Morando, 26, as the main suspect for murder and corpse suppression, with teacher Nicole Formichetti, 47, and Keith Butig, 22, accused of aiding concealment.

Parts turned up overnight Thursday into Friday. Morando’s mother called 112 saying her son had hurt someone. Early accounts describe a drug-fueled gathering and a claimed fight over a theft; reconstruction is incomplete. All three are presumed innocent pending the court’s decision on holding them.

Tipp City: FBI Tip Dead End as Flynn Trial Recesses

Miami County Common Pleas recessed Friday just after 3 p.m. until Monday 8:45 a.m. in the murder trial of Caleb Flynn, 40, the former music pastor and American Idol contestant accused of shooting his wife, Ashley Flynn, 37, twice in the back of the head in their Tipp City home on Feb. 16 and staging a break-in. He has pleaded not guilty.

Ohio BCI agent Joseph Wilhelm finished digital testimony showing Apple-device movement around the time of the 911 call. FBI Special Agent Andrea Kinzig told jurors a murder-for-hire tip collapsed — the purported source called it conjecture — and that Ashley’s phone showed no evidence of the affair Flynn claimed she’d had, while marital strain showed up in January texts. Last phone access logged for Ashley was just before 11:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Monday is expected to bring a lengthy prosecution video. Flynn is presumed innocent.

Santo Domingo: Four Held in Merengue Singer’s Wife Killing

Prosecutors in Santo Domingo Este sought 18 months’ preventive detention Friday against four men accused in the Sept. 21 home attack that killed Zeneida Socorro Castillo, 60, and seriously injured merengue singer Gilberto Julián Sarante — Julián Oro Duro. The coercion hearing was later put over to Wednesday so defense counsel can review the file.

Named in custody: Phillips Michael Tejeda Vásquez; Juan Carlos Hernández García (“Peña”); Kevin Dariel Germán Troncoso (“Yandel”), 23; and Lawrence Mark Liranzo Marcos (“Chiquito”), 18. Police say Tejeda did private air-conditioning work for the singer and allegedly brought the others in; Liranzo worked on a villa the artist was building in Guerra. Investigators allege Castillo was held and tortured for hours before she was killed. All four are presumed innocent.

Vidor: Life for Man Who Killed Woman From Dating App

An Orange County jury on Thursday convicted Adrian Caesar Echevarria, 49, of murdering Bami Elizabeth Carmane, 61, of Rose City and sentenced him to life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Punishment deliberations took about 15 minutes, Law&Crime reported from the courtroom.

Investigators say Echevarria, from McAllen, used a contraband prison phone to build a dating profile, met Carmane online while in federal custody in Beaumont, and that she picked him up on his Aug. 20, 2025, release, bought him a truck, and put him in a cabin on her property. Within about 12 hours she was dead in that cabin. He tried to clean blood, then asked her niece in the main house for help; the niece found Carmane and called 911. First Assistant DA Bard Anderson and DA Krispen Winfree tried the case. Echevarria is convicted.
