Will County charged Corie A. Walsh Friday in the Tuesday killing of her two-year-old son Barrett in Frankfort, Ill., with court filings noting she had been texting friends about the Lindsay Clancy trial hours before a neighbor found the boy hanging in the basement and Walsh in a bloody tub. In Las Vegas, the coroner named Nohani Flores Osuna and her children Maiya, 16, and Noah, 7, as the three shot dead Tuesday; Juan Carlos Orona remains held without bail on three open-murder counts after turning himself in at Southeast Area Command. Miami police booked Stefano Cremasco-Cicero on second-degree murder after his mother was found stabbed in his Solitair Brickell apartment early Friday. Houston prosecutors charged Derrick Duane Jackson with capital murder in the Thursday leasing-office deaths of Rosa Linda Ybarra and Felix Antonio Jimenez Macz. Gyeongsan police referred Chinese lecturer Zheng Changsheng to prosecutors Friday in the Aug. 20 killing and dismemberment of a 25-year-old Chinese graduate student. Staffordshire police still hold two men after a Friday stabbing death on Orme Road in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Maryland State Police held Gage Mitchell without bond in the Thursday shooting of Jordan Holt in Salisbury. And South Yorkshire named Ryan Kettlewell, 38, as the man shot dead in Ecclesall Woods.
Frankfort Toddler Killing Brings Murder Charges
Frankfort police and Will County prosecutors charged Corie A. Walsh, 40, with three counts of first-degree murder Friday in the death of her son Barrett Walsh, 2. Officers were called to the 22700 block of Brook Stone Court just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. A neighbor had already cut the boy down from a basement rafter and was doing CPR; he was cold, without a pulse, and pronounced dead at a hospital. The Will County Coroner’s Office called it an apparent homicide. Preliminary autopsy findings: asphyxia from ligature compression of the neck.
Prosecutors’ petition to deny pretrial release says Walsh told officers she did it because he was the “devil” and the “anti-Christ,” and later described how she killed him in terms matching the scene. She was found upstairs, fully clothed in a tub of bloody water, with cuts to her wrists and thighs. An infant and two school-age siblings were home and unharmed; her husband was out of town. The filing also says she had been “very invested” in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial and was still texting friends about it until about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday — three and a half hours before the discovery, while Clancy’s jury was still out. Walsh remains in medical custody and will move to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for a detention hearing once cleared. She is presumed innocent.

Las Vegas Triple Shooting Victims Named
Clark County’s coroner on Friday identified the three people found shot inside a Spring Valley apartment on the 5100 block of O’Bannon Drive as Nohani Flores Osuna, 41; Maiya Deleon Flores, 16; and Noah Morales Flores, 7. LVMPD forced entry Tuesday evening after Juan Carlos Orona, 29, called 911 from the parking lot of Southeast Area Command around 7 p.m. and told officers he had shot his girlfriend and her two children. His father and brother had driven him there. He was treated at Sunrise Hospital for an abdominal gunshot wound, then booked into Clark County Detention Center on three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and ten counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure. He is held without bail; next court date Sept. 9. Neighbors said the family had lived in the complex only a couple of months. He is presumed innocent.

Brickell High-Rise Stabbing: Mother Killed
Miami police arrested Stefano Cremasco-Cicero, 36, on second-degree murder after officers were called about 4:47 a.m. Friday to Solitair Brickell Apartments in the 80th block of Southwest Eighth Street. They found him in the lobby with blood on his shoes, hands, and clothes. He told them, “I was defending myself.” Inside the unit, his mother — visiting from Mexico; age and full name not yet released — lay fully clothed with multiple apparent stab wounds. Fire Rescue pronounced her dead at about 5:08 a.m.
Surveillance and key-fob data, according to the report, show the two returning alone about 10:32 p.m., then Cremasco-Cicero later riding elevators with a knife and blood on his clothes before dropping the blade in a lobby, leaving the building, and returning to flag a food-delivery worker for help. Detectives executing a warrant recovered bloodied kitchen knives, shirts, and broken glass. His wife, reached in France, said he and his mother had dinner plans and had not been close since his parents’ divorce. He invoked counsel and was held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bond to be set. Motive still unclear. He is presumed innocent.

West Houston Leasing Office Double Murder
Harris County court records identify Derrick Duane Jackson, 48, as the man charged with capital murder in the Thursday evening killings of Rosa Linda Ybarra, 67, and Felix Antonio Jimenez Macz, 47, inside the management office of the Park at Woodlake complex in the 9500 block of Ella Lee Lane. Houston police were called about 6:45 p.m. after a maintenance worker and a resident trying to pay rent found both victims. Police said both were shot multiple times; the complaint also alleges Jackson stabbed Jimenez Macz. No motive in the charging papers.
Jackson was arrested Friday afternoon. Prosecutors asked for a $1 million bond and also moved to deny bond; none was set as of Saturday. First setting: Tuesday, Sept. 8. He has a prior Harris County cocaine-possession conviction from 1998. He is presumed innocent.

Gyeongsan Lecturer Sent to Prosecutors
Gyeongbuk Gyeongsan Police on Friday referred Zheng Changsheng, 31, a Chinese university lecturer, to prosecutors under arrest for the Aug. 20 killing of a 25-year-old Chinese graduate student at his home in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan — about 290 kilometers southeast of Seoul. Yonhap and The Korea Times report he is accused of mutilating her body and abandoning remains in mountains and other sites across five cities, including Gyeongju and Gunpo, plus obstruction for falsely reporting her missing and moving her phone to a train station while dressed as a woman.
Police say Zheng told them he feared losing his job when she threatened during an argument to disclose their relationship to the university. A psychopathy screen scored below the agency’s cutoff. The search for unrecovered remains continues. He is presumed innocent.

Newcastle-under-Lyme Stabbing: Two Held
Staffordshire Police were called to Orme Road in Newcastle-under-Lyme shortly after 5 p.m. Friday after a crash involving a red Ford Fiesta and a grey Audi. The Fiesta driver, a man in his 20s, had a stab wound, was taken to hospital, and later died. Two local men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody Saturday, BBC reported. Officers asked for dashcam and phone video from Orme Road, Rotterdam, and Mill Bank Place. Both men are presumed innocent.

Salisbury Shooting: Mitchell Charged in Holt Death
Maryland State Police arrested Gage Mitchell, 29, of Salisbury on Thursday night and charged him with first- and second-degree murder, assault, and firearm counts in the shooting of Jordan Holt, 29, also of Salisbury. Troopers from the Salisbury Barrack were called just after 8 p.m. to the 400-block of Ethels Way. Preliminary investigation: a verbal altercation, then Mitchell shot Holt and fled. He was located shortly afterward and arrested without incident. Holt was pronounced dead at the scene. A firearm was recovered. Mitchell is held without bond at the Wicomico County Detention Center. The MSP Homicide Unit is leading. He is presumed innocent.

Ecclesall Woods Victim Named Ryan Kettlewell
South Yorkshire Police on Saturday named Ryan Kettlewell, 38, as the man found shot dead in Ecclesall Woods near Whirlowdale Road at 6:46 p.m. Wednesday. A forensic post-mortem confirmed a gunshot wound. His family called him a lovable character they will “always continue to love” and miss. A 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man arrested Thursday in Manchester on suspicion of murder have been released on bail while the inquiry continues. Det Ch Insp Andy Knowles is still asking for dashcam from Whirlowdale Road on Sept. 1–2. Incident number: 821 of Sept. 2, 2026. Both remain under investigation and are presumed innocent.
