Staffordshire Police bailed four adults after a three-month-old girl died camping off Strawberry Lane near Cheslyn Hay Saturday morning, with Det Insp Josh Lee still calling the inquiry open-minded and isolated. Cheslyn Hay Woodland Baby: Four Held
Staffordshire Police arrested four people on suspicion of murder after a three-month-old girl went into cardiac arrest while camping with her family in woodland off Strawberry Lane, near Cheslyn Hay, at 08:45 BST Saturday. Emergency crews could not save her. The scene sat tucked off the main trail in the Wyrley and Essington Branch Canal Local Nature Reserve — not an official campsite, though locals fish the pools and walk dogs there.
Those held: a 42-year-old man and 30-year-old woman from south Staffordshire, a 20-year-old woman from Wolverhampton, and an 18-year-old man from Walsall. All four were detained at the scene and later bailed while inquiries continue. Det Insp Josh Lee said detectives are “keeping an open mind,” treat it as isolated, and asked the public not to spread unverified claims online. Roses appeared at the cordon. The four are presumed innocent.

Blackburn Hardman Street Double Stabbing
Lancashire Police opened a murder inquiry after NWAS called them to Hardman Street in Blackburn at 8:22 a.m. Monday. Paramedics found a man and woman with stab injuries; both were pronounced dead at the scene. Formal IDs and a Home Office post-mortem are pending. Neighbours told the BBC the pair were elderly; the Lancashire Telegraph’s sources called them a couple. A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Detectives are running CCTV, door-to-door, and forensics. The force says there is no wider community threat. Councillor Terri Mahmood described family members in tears at Masjid-e-Quwwatul Islam on Stansfeld Street; councillor Salim Sidat said he had known the family for 40 years. The arrested man is presumed innocent.

Guwahati Beltola: Husband Surrenders
Hatigaon Police and Assam CID are investigating the killing of Riya Talukdar, a Noonmati boutique worker who had lived about six months at House No. 14, Anjali Griha, in Guwahati’s Beltola area with her husband. Neighbours flagged a foul smell; officers found her body and, according to reporting, her severed head in a black polythene bag inside a refrigerator. A dao and liquor bottles were recovered. Preliminary estimates put the killing 24–48 hours before discovery.
Ramanujan Goswami, an Uber driver from Gauripur in Dhubri district, was first described as absconding, then surrendered at Hatigaon early Monday and is being questioned. Neighbours said they heard disturbance Saturday evening and only his voice. He is presumed innocent unless and until charged and convicted.

Keys Pleads Guilty in Lasrini Murder
Allen Keys, 68, of Patterson Lakes, appeared by video from Melbourne’s remand centre Monday and pleaded guilty to murdering Eva Lasrini, 53, a Dandenong mother of two. He admitted killing her at Little River, between Melbourne and Geelong, on April 1. She was reported missing the next day; her body was found April 4 near Little River Road and the Princes Freeway. Keys had been arrested April 3 at Melbourne Airport trying to board an international flight.
The Magistrates’ Court hearing was brief — he spoke only to confirm the plea. A directions hearing is set for Sept. 28 in the Victorian Supreme Court. AAP and ABC both reported from court.

Frankfort Mother Charged After Clancy Texts
Frankfort Police and Will County prosecutors charged Corie A. Walsh, 40, with three counts of first-degree murder in the Sept. 1 death of her son Barrett, 2, at a home in the 22700 block of Brook Stone Court. Officers answered an unresponsive-child call about 4:04 p.m.; a neighbour had cut a ligature, lowered the boy, and started CPR. Barrett was pronounced dead at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. Autopsy preliminaries cite asphyxia from ligature compression of the neck.
Walsh was found upstairs in a bathtub with self-inflicted cuts. Prosecutors say she told officers she killed Barrett because he was the “devil” and the “anti-Christ,” and that witnesses described her as “very invested” in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, texting friends about it until 12:30 p.m. that day — hours before the scene. Three other children were unharmed; her husband was out of state. Defense attorney Andrea Lyon said Walsh was in a psychotic episode. New Hope: Son Charged in Mother’s Death
New Hope police answering a Saturday welfare check in the 2000 block of Oak Grove Road found Anna Young, 53, dead inside the home. Madison County Sheriff’s Office detectives named her son, Donovan Axton Young, 23, a person of interest. After an overnight multi-agency search — New Hope, Huntsville, Owens Cross Roads, the sheriff’s office, and public tips — he was caught Sunday morning near Highway 431 and Cave Spring Road after a foot chase into woods.
Young is booked into Madison County Jail on a murder charge without bond. Sheriff Kevin Turner thanked the overnight team. Motive has not been released. He is presumed innocent. AL.com carried the case into Monday’s cycle.

Worcester: Jezierski Remanded to Crown Court
Pawel Jezierski, 46, of Wylds Lane, Worcester, made his first appearance Monday at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of Damian Buczek, 42. West Mercia found Buczek with serious injuries at the shared address shortly after 9 p.m. Sept. 1; he later died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Jezierski spoke only through a Polish interpreter to confirm name, date of birth, and address, then waved to the gallery as he was taken down.
Magistrates said the charge left them no bail option and sent the case straight to Worcester Crown Court for Tuesday, Sept. 8. The street cordon came down over the weekend after days of scene work. Jezierski is presumed innocent.

Reiger Park: Hawks Add Fourth Suspect
South Africa’s Hawks confirmed Monday that a 26-year-old man arrested Friday with an alleged illegal revolver, ammunition, and two phones is now linked to the Aug. 7 Reiger Park shootings that killed Roleen Lessing, Jayden Margerman, and Constables Thapelo Tlomatsana, 29, and Sphiwe Sibeko, 28. Colonel Katlego Mogale said Germiston Serious Organised Crime, Gauteng TRT, and the Anti-Gang Unit ran the op. The new suspect is due in Boksburg Magistrate’s Court Tuesday beside Reagan Cheslin Collis, 23, Jamal Meyer, 24, and Elvino Levert Crafford, 27 — already facing multiple murder and related counts, with bail opposed.
Police say Tlomatsana and Sibeko were ambushed while answering gunfire on patrol. All accused are presumed innocent.

Chennai Adyar: Five Arrested in TVK Killing
Chennai’s Shastri Nagar police arrested five 20-year-olds — Bharani, P Rakesh, P Naresh, D Manikandan, and N Hariharan — for the Saturday night hacking death of S Kannan, 45, a TVK functionary and B-category history-sheeter, near his Ellaiamman Koil Street office in Adyar. CCTV of the chase and attack circulated Sunday. Kannan’s cousin S Purushothaman filed the complaint; the body went to Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.
Police allege revenge for the 2009 murder of Bharani’s maternal uncle Siva and the 2016 Saidapet killing of Bharani’s father Velu. Commissioner A Amalraj transferred Adyar’s DC and the Shastri Nagar inspector. Opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin used the killing to attack the state’s law-and-order record ahead of Assembly debate. The five are presumed innocent.

Wakulla: Raker Back Behind Bars
Joseph Ronnie Raker, 46, was booked Saturday into Wakulla County Jail on two homicide counts in the shooting deaths of Rebecca Lynn Thomas, 58, and John William Luper III, 49, found with multiple gunshot wounds near Otter Creek Road / St. Marks Wildlife Refuge after an early-August manhunt. U.S. Marshals and Mexican authorities caught him south of Brownsville on Aug. 13; he sat in Hidalgo County, Texas, waived extradition, and finally returned this weekend.
Sheriff Jared Miller has said more arrests may follow for anyone who helped. Investigators initially let Raker leave as a cooperative witness before bodies were found under brush. He is presumed innocent.

Hoover Pool: Murder Warrant for Acquaintance
Hoover Police answered a 9:32 p.m. Sept. 3 call to a community pool in the 2200 block of Little Valley Road and found a 70-year-old woman unresponsive in the water. Lifesaving failed. Detectives located Anastasia Tsefia Sudarsana, 30, nearby, determined she was an acquaintance, and say evidence showed a physical struggle just before the death. Jefferson County DA’s office issued a no-bond murder warrant; she was moved toward Jefferson County Jail. The victim’s name is withheld pending family notification; cause and manner await the medical examiner. Sudarsana is presumed innocent.

Houston: Body in Duffel Across the Hall
Harris County deputies forced a welfare-check entry Sept. 1 at a home in the 17900 block of Valley Knoll Drive after relatives lost contact with Dyna Sorto De Malik. They found her son Arman Alexander Malik, 34, asleep in one bedroom. Across the hall they smelled decomposition, lifted bloody sheets, unzipped a duffel, and saw a human arm — blood pooled under the bag, spatter on a dresser. Affidavits also accuse him of disabling home cameras and locking her phone. Malik went unresponsive in a patrol car and was intubated. He faces tampering-with-evidence and concealing-a-corpse counts; autopsy will set cause and manner. Court hearing Tuesday. He is presumed innocent of any homicide unless charged.
